Thought

Blues is woody. Country/western is tinny.

"Caribou gorn" - one of my favorite moments from that sketch. They could perform abstract material and then mix it up with silly wordplay...

//"Jazz" sounds tinny too, as does, naturally, "metal". "Folk" is woody?

km -- the names, well, maybe. I was referring to the music itself. :)

(It's not the bass/treble either: I'd say Joni Mitchell is quite woody)

Ah.

Yes, Bluegrass is tinny. But some country music is *very* woody. Honky-tonk is tinny. How about chamber music?
