Rediff reports that Navin Chawla will be our next CEC, despite our current CEC's well-publicised objections.
A little earlier, Rediff had a story (thanks to Shivam Vij for his fb link) on exactly what Navin Chawla did during the Emergency, as documented by the Shah Commission and validated by the L P Singh committee, of which the author was a member. Meet the new boss.

Skeletons in the closet ! Whether or not these allegations are true, you have to laugh at these bickering petty babus. Where was Raghavan all these years, when Chawla was the Election Commisioner ? His memory seems to have sharpened a great deal now that Chawla is to be the next CEC.
Reminds me of another vastly over-rated brown-nosing babu, T.N Seshan, who for years sucked up to the Gandhi family and benefited immensely from being a complete establishment bloke..... and executed a remarkable con-job later in life as CEC, refashioning himself as an upright, maverick, anti-establishment crusader, with a generous topping of sanctimonious, self-righteous ramblings.
By the time they get to the Secretariat they are all rotten !
