The best Bond ever

We just saw "Casino Royale" and it has the best James Bond ever. David Niven.

This is the 1967 movie, and has an all-star cast: Bond girl Ursula Andress as Vesper Lynd, Orson Welles as Le Chiffre, Woody Allen as Bond's nephew Jimmy, Peter Sellers as a Bond impersonator.

I haven't yet seen the movie with Daniel Craig, the current "Greatest Bond Ever", but I wonder why the Broccolis bothered to remake this. I suppose they wanted to correct the record.

I've seen this film, and found the humour much too affected at times. I think the new Bond film deserves all the praise it's getting.

ws - well it was mostly silly, and meant to be... like the later Pink Panther movies. This is the third Niven+Sellers movie I've seen -- "The Pink Panther" was remade/rebooted in distinctly inferior manner, I wonder if anyone will tackle "Murder by death".

Will probably see the new Bond sometime. It has to be better than the Pierce Brosnan movies.
